Creamsource, renowned for its Vortex series of cinematic lighting, is “laying the groundwork for its next phase of growth” with the addition of Markus Zeiler as group managing director.
Zeiler joins at a “pivotal moment” for the company as it expands into new markets, deepens its R&D efforts, and develops the next generation of tools shaped by the needs of filmmakers, partners and production teams, a press release said.
Since 2005, Creamsource has been guided by its founders, Tama Berkeljon and Sasha Marks.
With Markus stepping into operational leadership, Berkeljon and Marks “gain more dedicated space to stay immersed in the pipeline of new technologies and tools”, Creamsource said.
Zeiler’s role stretches across everything required to bring a product from development into the world, giving the founders the freedom to stay focused on future innovation.
His experience spans LED development and lighting leadership at ARRI, as well as business growth and expansion at MBS Europe. He has overseen product and operations teams, led major global initiatives and is said to have helped drive the worldwide adoption of LED lighting in film and television.
“His combination of operational discipline, technical fluency and industry insight strengthens the foundation around Creamsource’s growing roadmap, enabling the company to scale with intention while staying grounded in the craft,” the organisation added.
“We’re thrilled to have Markus join the CreamTeam,” said Berkeljon, CEO of Creamsource. “We’re fully aligned on where the company needs to go and how best to support our customers in a changing market. His depth of knowledge and experience strengthens the whole organisation and allows me to focus even more on the vision and R&D work that shapes our future.”
“I’m very excited to welcome Markus to the team,” added Marks, Creamsource CTO. “He brings a tremendous amount of industry and leadership experience, and with him in the hot seat, I’ll be able to dive even further into R&D and new product innovation alongside Tama.
“After more than 20 successful years, I’m looking forward to this next stage of Creamsource’s evolution.”
“After knowing Tama and Sasha for more than a decade, it’s a great opportunity to finally work together on the same team,” said Zeiler.
“Creamsource has a strong brand, great products and an outstanding team spirit. I’m excited to help support their vision and to help shape what comes next.”
