
The NAACP Image Awards has announced its 2026 winners – with Sinners DP Autumn Durald Arkapaw ASC taking Outstanding Cinematography in a Feature Film.
This continues a successful awards run for Arkapaw, who has already taken home an AFC Award and Girls on Film Award.
The cinematographer’s prize was one of 13 for Sinners on the night, with the film also taking Best Motion Picture, Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture.
Sinners’ on-camera talent performed just as well, with Michael B. Jordan scooping Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, Miles Caton taking Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture, and Wunmi Mosaku following up her BAFTAs success with Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.
Other big-screen prizes were presented to Cynthia Erivo, who won Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for Wicked: For Good, and Sarah’s Oil’s Naya Desir-Johnson, who took Outstanding Performance by a Youth in a Motion Picture.
In television, Tyler James Williams took Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for his work on Abbott Elementary, Power Book III: Raising Kanan‘s Mario Van Peebles scooped Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series, and Chinaka Hodge was named Outstanding Breakthrough Creative (Television) for Marvel series Ironheart.
