Cooke Optics has unveiled Panchro 65/i, a new lens series designed for 65mm and larger-format cinematography.

Cooke has engineered Panchro 65/i to “faithfully carry forward the distinctive aesthetic of the Panchro line”, the organisation revealed.

The lenses combine “classic character with modern performance, scaling the iconic Panchro look to cover a significantly larger image circle, ideal for today’s advanced digital cinema cameras”.

Cooke has a long history of supporting large-format cinematography, beginning with the Double Speed Panchros and Duopanchros in the early 1950s, designed for VistaVision and 65mm film.

Today, with major camera manufacturers such as ARRI (Alexa 65, 265) and Fujifilm (ETERNA 55) embracing 65mm formats, Cooke is expanding its creative options for cinematographers.

Panchro 65/i series includes six focal lengths:

  • 30mm
  • 40mm
  • 55mm
  • 75mm
  • 100mm
  • 152mm (from spring 2026)

Each lens is priced at £16,000/€19,200/$23,000.

All lenses have a minimum T-stop of T22. The 55mm, 75mm and 100mm have a fast maximum T-stop of T2.5, while the 30mm and 40mm offer T2.8 and 152mm T2.9.

As the only 65mm smart lens series featuring Cooke’s /i Technology, Panchro 65/i will ensure productions “stay at the forefront of lens data and workflow integration”, Cooke concluded.

Shipping for Panchro 65/i will begin in November – more information is available on the Cooke website.
