Film industry professionals travelled to Cine Gear Expo Atlanta 2025 at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia, this month – with the expo helping professionals from across media, entertainment and technology to “connect, explore, and elevate their craft”.

This year’s event offered two “dynamic days” of immersive experiences, according to organisers, from cutting-edge exhibits to seminars, including opportunities for networking and learning.

As in years past, filmmakers had the opportunity to check out the latest cameras, lighting, workflow and post-production gear, while gaining hands-on training from top technology brands within a working studio lot.

Friday morning’s coffee and conversation kick-off welcomed over 200 attendees. Led by local film community leaders including Georgia Screen Entertainment Coalition’s Kelsey Moore, Atlanta Film Office’s Cardellia Hunter and Walker Dalton of Film Savannah, the opening dialogue revealed film commission resources and strategies for sustaining and attracting production.

The exhibit hall also brought together a diverse line-up of essential tools, technologies and services from across the industry, including Astera, Litepanels and Sigma.

The day’s delve into set safety, Extended Takes, Guns, Power Lines & Lightning… Oh Boy!, featuring Studio Mechanics Local 479, was presented by the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600).

This year’s Dialogue with ASC Cinematographers gave a “rollicking peek behind the curtain” starring directors of photography William Wages ASC, Billy Dickson ASC, Nicole Whitaker ASC, James Whitaker ASC, Sidney Sidell ASC, Richard Vialet ASC and moderator Rodney Taylor ASC.

The International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) also presented Making Your Mark in Unscripted, while other panel highlights included insights from the Alliance of Women Directors and the Visual Effects Society, as well as virtual production demos from Lux Machina and Trilith Studios, plus more.
