Atomos has made a number of announcements regarding its Ninja range ahead of IBC2025.
Firstly, the company has revealed that the Ninja TX, a completely re-engineered and advanced addition to the acclaimed Ninja monitor-recorder family announced in July, is now shipping.
Ninja TX features both 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs, along with integrated Wi-Fi and AirGlu timecode technology.
It introduces a brand-new industrial design that improves thermal efficiency, reduces weight, and enhances portability, all in a compact five-inch form factor.
At the Atomos booth at IBC2025 (9.C05), the Ninja TX will be demonstrated with the latest cameras from Canon, Fujifilm and Nikon. Atomos will also be showcasing a beta version of camera control over USB-C, which the company plans to introduce in Q4 2025.
“The camera control option is a much-requested feature from our customers,” said Peter Barber, Atomos CEO. “Ninja TX is the first Ninja to include a USB-C port; it actually has three, which opens up a world of possibilities–just one of which is camera control.”
Atomos also confirmed that the Ninja Phone is compatible with Mavis Camera and Grass Valley AMPP, representing a “significant advancement for content creators, broadcasters, and field journalists wanting to deliver high quality content, quickly”.
When paired with the Mavis Camera app, the Ninja Phone co-processor transforms any HDMI-equipped mirrorless or DSLR camera into a professional-grade live streaming device.
With support for 10-bit ProRes, H.265, and H.264 recording, users can record locally and push content directly into Framelight X, Grass Valley’s next-generation cloud-based media asset management (MAM) system.
New for IBC 2025 is the ability for users to live stream via Wi-Fi or 5G straight into the AMPP production environment–all from a compact mobile set-up.
“It’s really exciting to see Ninja Phone, our flexible capture and streaming hardware, embraced by an industry-standard platform like Grass Valley’s AMPP,” added Barber.
“This demonstrates how media asset gathering has evolved to include a wide variety of cameras, enabling mirrorless and DSLR models to co-exist in high-end broadcast environments.
“It’s a great example of what’s possible when Atomos, Mavis, and Grass Valley work together to bring practical innovation to creators and broadcasters.”
Finally, Atomos revealed that until the end of October, Atomos is offering two exclusive deals that put powerful camera-to-cloud workflows into the hands of every filmmaker, creator, or production team with an HDMI camera and an iPhone through its ATOMOSphere cloud ecosystem for media storage, backup, sharing, and review.
